Sarah Bean – Primary Trainee
What inspired you to become a teacher?
Through my own education, I was fortunate enough to experience many inspirational and enthusiastic teachers and who made my time at school both memorable and enjoyable. I wished to have the opportunity to promote the same love of learning for future generations.
Why did you choose High Force Education SCITT?
High Force SCITT was recommended to me by my old Headteacher when returning to my ex-primary school to complete some work experience before applying to teacher training. The opportunity to train in the area, and potentially the school I went to, was something that really appealed to me.
What were the highlights of your training year?
A particular highlight of my training was returning to my old primary school and having the chance to teach in my old Year 5 classroom. It allowed me to reflect upon the personal journey I have come on; I never would have imagined I would have the confidence to stand in front of a class.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about a career in teaching?
My advice would be to always focus on the positive impact you are having – it makes all the planning worth it. You couldn’t choose a more rewarding career!
